Join me as I take one photo a week for the next year, each one capturing a specific aspect of our family life and my kid's childhood that I want remembered. You can read the introduction post here, an FAQ post here and all related posts here.

I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas! Ours was perfect - busy and loud and full of family mixed with some quieter moments of just of the four of us.

Since we're in the last week of the month (and of the year!) I'm photographing the details of our life.

Assignment 26: Photograph their favourite Christmas ornament, book, activity or video.
Before you start packing up all your Christmas stuff, photograph your child with the their favourite Christmas "thing". My kids are big readers and they love when the basket of Christmas books comes out on December 1st - and so do their dad and I since it means a whole load of new books to add into the rotation of books we read over and over and over again.

This year their favourites are Santa Duck and The Donkey's Christmas Song. Angelo is big into being silly and telling jokes right now so he giggles the whole way through Santa Duck and then retells the "jokes" from the book the rest of the day.

And I love that The Donkey's Christmas Song (or the donkey book as it's referred to in our house) used to be Angelo's favourite and is now Grace's favourite. It's a board book so we probably only have one more year of this one being in the basket which is sad because it's one I never get tired of reading.

You can't see the title of Gracie's book here but I just loved her little toes in this photograph. I think we'll remember the book just by reading the first line you can see here but if not I have my journaling here to remember.

And I know our house doesn't look very Christmas-y from these angles (except the reindeer peeking over Angelo's shoulder) but it really is.

I'd love to know what the favourite Christmas books, videos, ornaments, etc are in your house so I can add them to my list for next year. Link below in the comments or send me an email if you have yours posted online.

I'm taking the rest of the week off from blogging. I'll be back next Monday with the next Our Year in Photos prompt.

We had the Donkey's Christmas Song too and the kids both loved it when they were younger. I need to check out Santa Duck - we haven't read that one. Finally getting around to posting this prompt today.
