Have you taken your photograph this week yet?

I've had a few questions and thought I'd take a minute to post my thoughts. But keep in mind, this is your project too so do whatever fits best into your life right now. And if you have any more questions, put them in the comments or send me and email and I'd be happy to answer those too.

Why only one photograph a week? Isn't more better?

Sure, more can be better. The problem is that a lot more stresses me out more than it brings me enjoyment. But this gives me a plan to capture everything and everyone we love over the course of the year without getting hung up on all the editing and deciding what I'm going to do with each photograph.

I have printed out photographs over the past few years that are displayed on our walls, but other than that, all the everyday moments are stuck on a variety of hard drives, unedited and unprinted. This way I know I'm going to have some really great images printed in an album by this time next year.

The other thing I'm cognisant of as I start this project is that I am a great starter and not a great finisher. By keeping the weekly requirement small, I'm making it easy for myself to keep it going throughout the entire year.

And of course I'm going to take more than one photograph a week of my family. This just gives me some focus both on what I'm capturing each week and what I'm doing with the photographs at the end of the year. The end result is really what I'm keeping in mind throughout this project.

Really only one photograph a week?

Well... most weeks. There are some weeks that I'm going to want to do one photograph for each child. There are other weeks where they'll both be in the photograph together. So no, I'm not being strict with myself but I am keeping the one photograph per week (and sometimes per week per child) in mind.

I really want to do this project but I can't start until August.

Then jump in in August! Don't worry about catching up, just start with whatever assignment we're on whenever you're able to start. Don't stress yourself out by trying to get "caught up". Your album will just be August to June, or even better, go back and do the July prompts in 2012 and add them on to the end of your album.

My brother is getting married in September. I'm throwing a surprise party for my best friend next week. Insert your event here. How will that fit into the project?

While this project is meant to be one photo prompt per week to capture my family, our home, our and our friends as a broad overview, I know for myself there will be some special family events throughout the year I want to include. I'll fill you in in a couple weeks but I definitely have a plan for special events.

If you have any more questions, post them below. And I'd love to see your front of the house photograph if you're already finished this week's assignment.

I've taken mine just need to get around to posting it. I think I'll start a separate category and post every week on my blog. :) So happy you are doing this and so very good to see your photos again. Hugs!
